Hi My name is Sophia I am the founder of Marlo Skin Care. I will tell you a little bit about myself and our company. So as you know my name is Sophia and I am Ten years old, that may surprise you and some of you may think ‘Oh their products won’t be so good because their children’ Shock! Tayla and I have always been crafty and like to make things for each other. Then for some reason i got interested in soap making and one of my old friends told me about a youtuber called Katie Carson and she has started her own ‘little’ business called Royalty Soaps here’s a link https://www.royaltysoaps.com/
So i got really interested and wanted to make my own to sell so I cooked up a batch of hot process soap and look where that got me! . Thank you so much for taking the time to read this if you have further questions please contact me via the comments. Thanks Again

My Holiday
In the Holidays my family and I mainly stayed home but I will share with you the interesting things we did. So in the first week I had My bestie Tayla come over to our new house for a sleepover after our Marimba Festival practice ( there will be a blogpost for that soon) and we had a lovely time hanging out in our garden, playing on the rope swing, and talking girlie stuff like that. Then the following friday my Nana came over to stay for a few days because we hadn't seen her since April and she had been in England on a 1 month holiday seeing all the sights, and she had some presents with her to give to us. Here's what i got: some new earrings a small box of simpkins travel sweets and a new bag .
so my Nana stayed with us for 3 three days and left on tuesday then we stayed home on wednesday tidying the house like crazy waiting for my great aunt to come over the next day. My Aunty stayed for 4 days and then left on saturday so we had 2 days just to chill out at home because where we live it's super windy and can get really cold. so that was my holiday hope you enjoyed thank you for reading this and please check out Taylas blog. Thanks Again

Daffodil Day...
Today was Daffodil Day, we buy Daffodils to remember and hope that the people who are sick, dying,or are already dead from Cancer. When I got to school today, I went into the school office to buy a daffodil for Daffodil Day, and there was already a long que of children lining up to buy Daffodils and also a bunch of children leaving the office with fistfuls of faux Daffodils in their hands. Almost as soon as I left the office, the bell went for the start of school, and we were all ushered into the school hall to watch a trailer about Daffodil and to take a photo. Thank- you for reading my blog posts and make sure you get a Daffodil for Daffodil day!

Science Fair Night
On Tuesday, we had our science fair presentation night. It was a lot of fun, there were heaps of posters and science boards! There was even one about a bendy chicken bone! My science project was about blowing up a balloon with the gas from vinegar and baking soda are mixed together in a bottle while a balloon is placed on top and inflated. This is a picture of a slime 'exhibit' about what happens when different things are mixed into the slime , some of the things in them were: paper towels, dirt , and clay. Mrs Hannah was our judge, she walked around the whole room looking at every single ( and duo) persons science project and poster. My science project wasn't admitted on the night but, Mrs Hannah said that if I took it home and did a little bit more work on it, then she would let me go into Regionals!
P.S I did!

Farm Trip Whangara, Term 2
1. Farm trip at Whangara
2. The cold air was so freezing cold i had to drag my jacket over my head and even that was a struggle to do in the wind that blew so hard it made you numb all over Andrew and Renee told about seeds like Croksfoot , lotus, plantain, rye, e.c.t.
3. We trudged along in our gum-boots into the plantain field all of us were shivering. the majority of us crouched down so that we could look for, four-leaf clover. I found 4 of them very sadly 3 of them blew away when i was distracted or showing someone the clover.
4. All of the girls in our class jumped back into our mini-bus and drove along to Pa Rd to look at what the river and it's water had done to the earth surrounding the river. The water had eaten into the ground and you could see it very clearly from where we were on the bridge.
5. Then we went to the woolshed were they shaved and bundled up the wool thay had collected from the sheep. I can not believe that they expected us to sit on the pooey sacks of wool and eat our lunch!
it was so disgusting i couldn't stomach any food or water otherwise I probably would of puked all over my marmite samwich, so i just stumbled around holding my stomach.
6. On the car ride back to school us girls were practicing our kapa haka songs and solos. most of us were singing wildly and loudly while the rest of us just sang quietly to ourselves. the farm trip was so wet and cold but still a great experience.
Here Renee tells us about the different grass types and how they work and what they do on their farm. She also told us about the trials they do.

Our Visit With Lisa, Term 2 ,Farming
Our Visit with Lisa...
Dr Lisa Hulme-Moir ( the vet ) came to our school today, she told us about cows milk, diseases, blood cells ( white and red) , illness spread through bulls and rams , and there was even a picture of the inside of an Elephants stomach!.
Lisa told us about all this "stuff" because we had/are learning about farming and agriculture. we went to Angus Allan's ( go check out his blog...) farm called Pukemata to test some soil and grass, sheep, and cattle. My favourite animal there was a sheep Max H (go have a look at his too!) and I named llama.
It was so interesting, that time actually ran away from us it was meant to be a 30 minute talk but ended up being an hour and a half!. Such a cool experience for everyone, wish it could of been longer!!!:).
Here are some pictures from her visit:
Here she tells us about the kinds of jobs and things she does, look at animals, does blood tests,
and generally just check up on them. She also said that one of her co-workers did some work on an ginormous elephant from Auckland Zoo, the image made everyone squeal and feel queasy.

This Photo ( bottom right ) is from the end of her visit with us we wanted to remember this visit with her. And we also wanted to learn some information and put into our seeds' R 'us work and to put it in our blog. -Sophia
Term 2 goals of the week
Term 2, this term we are having another goals of the week, and i have been trying to focus more on my work and answers more than just focusing on the background and colour and looks, and just getting my work done on time so that I can better marks and do better at my next school. Our goals are very detailed and we take time every Monday morning to start and finish our new goals. How it works: We get given a new quote every monday morning and we write what it means to us and we make new goals and reflect on the goals from the week before.

anzac biscuits recipe : makes about 20
1. 1 cup of rolled oats turn oven to 160 degrees celsius and lightly grease oven trays
2. 1 cup of thread coconut put dry ingredients in a big mixing bowl. Then melt the butter
3. 1 cup of flour and golden syrup then take off heat mix baking soda and boiling 6. 2 Tbsp of maple syrup water in a cup then add to the dry ingredients and mix. make little
7. 1 Tbsp of baking powder balls and place on a cooking tray lined with baking paper. then place
8. 2 Tbsp of boiling water in oven leave them for about 20 minutes. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!
Anzac biscuits have long been associated with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) established in World War I. The biscuits were sent by wives and women's groups to soldiers abroad because the ingredients do not spoil easily and the biscuits kept well during naval transportation
That is when the Anzac Biscuit was invented. Based on the Scottish recipe using rolled oats, sugar, plain flour, coconut, butter, golden syrup, bi-carbonate of soda and boiling water. All these items did not readily spoil and were easily maintained. Some soldiers also used crushed biscuits to make porridge
Red poppies made of light cloth or paper, they are traditionally worn on and around Anzac Day as a mark of respect to those who died while serving their country. The poppy has its origins in the early twentieth century, when red or Flanders poppies bloomed over the graves of soldiers in France and Belgium.
ANZAC biscuits were because they were long lasting and because of food shortening and rationing there are no eggs in the mixture.
